Shout Out To Sasha The Pit Bull Who Dragged A 7-Month-Old Baby By Its Diaper To Safety During A House Fire
CBS News- Sasha, an 8-month-old pit bull, was sitting outside of her Stockton, California, home Sunday, June 3 when flames began to engulf the apartment building. Sasha’s owner, Nana Chaichanhda, and her baby were inside. The quick-thinking dog jumped into action, alerting Chaichanhda about the fire before she even realized the blaze herself. The fire eventually destroyed most of the four-plex, but not before Sasha helped get her family out. “June 3, 2018, I was awaken by my pit bull pup Sasha banging and crying at my backyard door. Little did I know, Sasha would become my hero,” Chaichanhda wrote on a GoFundMe page intended to raise money after losing her home in the fire. Chaichanhda said at first she was confused, then realized her cousin’s apartment, which was right next door, was up in flames. “I ran into the bedroom, where Sasha was already dragging my 7-month-old baby off the bed by her diaper,” she wrote. “Thanks to Sasha we were able to get out safe and call 911.”
Sasha the Pit Bull! A very good girl. Just dunking on all the people who say pit bulls aren’t family-friendly dogs. Uhhhhhh when is the last time your non-pit bull dog saved an entire family from being burned alive? That’s what I thought. Your non-pit bull dog looks pretty un-heroic compared to Sasha right now. Not only did she alert the entire family, she started dragging people outta the house. When she realized that she was the only one who knew there was a fire, she jumped into action.

What a hilarious visual in a not-so-hilarious situation. The humans had barely realized there was a fire in tearing through the house and Sasha was already dragging the baby by its diaper off the bed like, “You idiots gonna help me or nah?” She was already putting in work when the humans were just starting to wonder, “Is the house on fire?” Humans not being able to immediately sense that there’s a fire happening around them is a big flaw. BIG flaw. How oblivious are we to fires? We’re so oblivious to fires that we have to install super loud alarms in every room of the house. Not dogs. It sounds like Sasha knew the fire was happening before it even started. Humans have evolved a lot over time but we simply can’t tell when the building we’re in is engulfed in flames. Dogs > Humans yet again.
