All 12 Boys + Coach From Thai Soccer Team Have Been Rescued

Extremely pleased to report that the stoplight re: Jokes-Thai Soccer Team has switched to green.

That’s because today, after 18 days in the dark, the remaining boys and their coach were brought to the surface safely. Volunteers from Europe, Asia & the U.S. worked tirelessly to get them out past strong currents, razor sharp rocks, cold water & darkness. All the more impressive considering some of the boys could not even swim.

This graphic from CNN shows what the boys had to do:

Retired Thai SEAL Saman Kunan lost his life on July 6th when he was overtaken by a flash flood after dropping oxygen off for the team. According to his Facebook page, he was an avid cycler who loved doing adventure races for The North Face Adventure Team.

Now a doctor & 3 Thai Navy SEALS, who stayed in the cave with the team for more than a week, are still deep underneath the mountains of Northern Thailand. Hoping they make it out ok; that kind of Big Dick Energy deserves to be recognized.

I’ve been sitting here watching the news as crowds cheer ambulances bringing the boys to the hospital. Last time I wrote about this I could only imagine the agony of the families & now I’m so glad they can feel relief.
