Tiger Woods: The Fairways Are Rolling Faster Than The Greens At Carnoustie
This is all the talk out of the British Open right now: fairways are drier than Laura Wagner at a Pup Punk concert. It’s awesome — links golf the way it’s meant to be played. Firm, fast, with the ball bouncing and rolling toward unpredictable places. How fiery is it playing? So fiery the fairways are faster than the greens. Think about that. You hit your approach about 10 feet short of the green and instead of accounting for the fairway to slow your putt up, you must account for it to speed your ball up. Ball will roll faster through the “fringe” than it will on the green. That’s crazy town. I love it. Thursday morning can’t get here soon enough (tee times start at 1:35 am est).
What a real treat this will be…
