That’s exactly what he (and we Tiger fans) needed. Tiger couldn’t go out there and shoot even par and still have a chance to win this thing. He needed something in the 65-67 range to even have a chance. He did just that with an electric 66. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from the round.

(I can’t find the video but Tiger made a huge par save at the first. Would’ve been real tough to start the day with a bogey)

Here’s his first birdie of the day at no. 4

Here’s his longggggggggggggggg birdie putt at no. 9. This really jump started his round IMO

Here’s his 4th birdie of the day at no. 10

Then he birdies no. 11 for this third birdie in a row and we were really rolling at this point

Another birdie at no. 14 to (at the time) be tied for the lead and holy shit Tiger Woods was tied for the lead at a major in 2018 holy shit

Again I can’t find the video but people need to understand just how close Tiger came to hitting it into the burn on no. 18. It literally couldn’t have gotten any closer. I nearly had a heart attack and died. It would’ve been the worst possible to a round where Tiger looked fantastic. The ball jusssssssssssssssssst missed from going into the burn just missed.

What did Tiger do with his luck? Made an incredible par and finished with a round of 66

So he’s a 5-under. A very very good spot to be as it sits right now. There’s still a lot of golf left to be played today and guys like our boy Kevin Kisner and Zach Johnson might go super duper low given the conditions but Tiger did his part. He’ll at least be within striking distance tomorrow and that’s all we can ask for. What an awesome round outta Tiger. God damn. It just goes to show that nobody electrifies the golf world (and the sports world) quite like Tiger when he’s playing well. It’s so much fun when he gets on a roll. Especially when we never knew if we’d see him in this position ever again. Shout out to fusion.

Buckle up. Sunday is gonna be fun.
