Two identical twin sisters are taking the international modelling world by storm aged just 18. Elisha and Renee Herbert, from Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, started posting photos to Instagram when they were 14. They quickly garnered around 10,000 followers each and were soon picked up by fashion brand Peppermayo.
Four years later, they boast a combined total of almost two million followers under the tutelage of Elite Model Management, which handles some of the most famous stars in the world. The sisters, who originally wanted to become marine biologists before ‘falling into’ modelling, are triplets – but their brother leads a more private life studying Nanoscience at UNSW.
‘He’s not into that at all,’ Renee told Husskie. ‘He doesn’t let us take photos! We have like one photo of him.’
I grew up with a sister. A good amount of us did. You get your fair share of joking around from your buddies and you see them go to prom with guys and their instagrams at parties. It’s just a way of life. Well, how about when you have two twins sisters? And then those two twin sisters are drop dead gorgeous? And those two twins sisters have Instagrams? And those two drop dead gorgeous twin sisters have a million followers each and make a living taking the hottest pictures ever with minimal clothing? Yeah I’d say as the brother you need to leave the family. Just delete their numbers and move to like Colorado to start a new life. Their brother, Eric, is studying Nanoscience and is well on his way to that path. You can find a job in Silicon Valley and start curing people that are brain dead or something. When your sisters look like this and you’re the nerdy brother, you can’t act like everything is fine. You have to go full incognito and journey elsewhere.
I wonder when they decided to quit their dream of becoming marine biologists and instead took on the daunting task of taking half-naked pictures for a living? Would have loved to see the pros and cons list for that one. Some people just hit the genetic lottery and win life. Meanwhile Eric has to figure out how to cure brain cancer in order to make it big. Life is tough.
