Egypt Is Giving People A Year In Prison If They Do The Drake "In My Feelings" Dance Challenge
PUT THIS MAN BEHIND BARS.
BLOOMBERG – A roadside dance inspired by rapper Drake’s “In My Feelings” may be an Internet sensation, but in Egypt, it can land you behind bars.
The so-called KiKi Challenge involves people hopping out of a car and dancing to the song while the car is moving alongside. Videos posted from Egypt include one of a man wearing a traditional robe known as a galabiya jumping from a donkey-drawn cart to start hoofing. Posts on social media from Egypt have shown actress Dina El-Sherbiny and football star Essam El-Hadary hopping out of cars and jamming.
Egypt’s Interior Ministry says that while it’s fine to do the dance for fun, obstructing traffic could draw fines of up to 3,000 pounds ($167) and a year in prison, the Ahram Online news website reported. If the dance results in injury or death, the case could be referred to prosecutors, the portal quoted the ministry’s spokesman as saying.
Man the Middle East is where it’s at. I don’t know if Egypt is technically considered the Middle East, but for all intents and purposes, it is. And talk about a place that has it all figured out. They’ve been getting a little more progressive lately, which is disheartening. Letting women drive – what’s up with that? What’s next? Allowing them to show a sliver of skin of their bodies? It’s a slippery slope. Give them an inch they’ll take a mile in a Honda Accord. At least they’re sticking to their guns when it comes to “having fun.” Fuck that shit. You know who has fun? Americans, and look at the turmoil they’re in right now. They’re dancing and prancing around left and right and they all fucking hate each other. Probably because all these Gen Z assholes are blocking traffic while they try to get to their Instagram shoots.
That’s why the Middle East + whatever Egypt is needs to buckle down and put a stop to the madness – no dancing, no having fun, no fucking Drake and his sad woe-is-me music about girls being mean to him. People were just fine in the Stone Ages so let’s just stick with the laws and customs from then. We’ll see how In Your Feelings you are when you spend a year in solitary confinement.
