Rafa Nadal Outlasts Dominic Thiem In An Incredible 5th Set Tiebreak At The US Open Late Into The Night

Four and a half hours of relentless tennis, Nadal and Thiem played one of the best matches in a long, long time last night. That fifth set was one of the best back and forth battles I’ve ever seen. Rafa and Thiem left everything out on the court. I get that most of you think tennis is a joke and boring, but I’d love to see you say that after watching the end of that fifth set. I think Henry is starting to see the light!

But in all seriousness that was an awesome match.

Finally up 6-5 on serve in the final tiebreak, Nadal forced Thiem into a few overheads, and Dominic airmailed to lose the match. BRUTAL.

What a match. Nadal goes on to play Del Potro on Friday for a spot in the finals. Late night tennis: there’s nothing better. Join the party. Gamble on it and I guarantee you won’t stop watching.
