Brent Burns Basically Bought A Zoo In Texas And Continues To Be The Most Interesting Man In The NHL
I think I’ve made it relatively clear over the years here that I’m a big fan of hockey. Think it’s a great game. Some may even say the best. With that being said–I think I’d be totally on board if we just cancelled the 2018-19 NHL season and instead of broadcasting games every night, we just got to check in on a livestream from Brent Burns working on his ranch down in Texas. This was only part 1 of a 3-part mini series put together by the Sharks media team but I can already assure you that it’s not going to be nearly long enough. I need an entire season worth of episodes from the Burns Ranch. I never got around to watching “We Bought A Zoo” starring Matt Damon, and I think I’m in the majority when I say that. So if nobody actually went to go see that movie, why not just re-release it but with Brent Burns as the lead role? All I’m saying is that in this day and age, it’s almost impossible to keep somebody’s attention on a video that is any longer than 3 and a half minutes. Part 1 was 7:56 and I still need at least 10 of those.
There may not be a cooler human being playing professional sports right now than Brent Burns. He’s a 5-time All Star. He signed an 8×8 contract in 2016. Won the Norris Trophy in 2017 as the league’s best defenseman. Won World Cup gold with Team Canada in 2016. Would have been an Olympic gold medalist this year if the NHL sent their players. And yet the dude seems like he’d be perfectly fine if hockey just went away. He’d just hang out at his ranch in Texas with all of his exotic animals, his family, and Cam. One of the best hockey players in the world and the guy just wants to breed wildebeest and elk. And Burnzie, bud. If you’re reading this, which I know you are, feel free to throw an invite over this direction. I may not know much about wildlife but I’ll gladly help you drink some beers in the tractor. Just a thought.
Brent Burns. One of a kind.
