Aaron Judge Is Back To Hitting Baseballs Where They Shouldn't Be Hit
Ain’t that a beautiful sight to see? Aaron Judge back on the field hitting baseballs to parts unknown. Sure it’s batting practice, but a few weeks ago we didn’t expect getting to this spot in the rehab. Some were tossing the word “shutdown” around because of the lack of progress and it wasn’t out of line to be honest. Well, he’s progressed to this point and I can’t help but smile. So many people got scared off by this Marc Carig tweet yesterday.
Relax. He’s going to feel pain regardless. He’s just going to have to play through it, which he will. I think people took that tweet as a setback of some sort, but it was just a question posed to him and he gave an answer. Judge is making strides and could get into a minor league game this weekend as the Rail Riders take on the Durham Bulls in the International League Championship Series. This is all good news, let’s just keep hoping for no setbacks and more progress.
Like I said on Starting 9, it’s impossible to expect the real Aaron Judge to return to this lineup. He’s not going to be 100%, but just his presence in the lineup will be a huge impact. The amount of pitches he sees from opposing pitchers and how he works counts is enough to make an impact. Anything after that is a plus as far as I’m concerned.
