The Trailer For The Final Season Of Anthony Bourdain's 'Parts Unknown' Is Out
The trailer for the first of seven episodes of the final season of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown has been released & features a trip to Kenya with comedian W. Kamau Bell. It is also the last episode that will have Bourdain as the narrator. The other six episodes are broken down into four more trips, a special with the crew, & a final show about his life.
Over a decade ago I read Kitchen Confidential & then fell into his first show No Reservations & was hooked ever since. Hard to say how many hours I spent on the couch watching him travel the world with an enviably kind curiosity, compassion & decency… (but enough to have earned at least 3 MBAs from U of Phoenix or built like 20 tiny ships in bottles by now… It was a lot.).
There’s been much in the news regarding his former girlfriend but that didn’t cross my mind at all watching the trailer. Hearing his voice & seeing him smiling on screen & doing what he did best made me happy and then pretty damn sad. I know I’m not the only one here at Barstool who was effected by his death, but also inspired by his life. The final season premieres this Sunday (9/23) at 9pm on CNN and I hope it does him justice.
