Okay, first off, before I address the wild lie told by challenger for Conor McGregor’s UFC lightweight Championship on Saturday, Khabib Nurmaomedov, can I just ask you something?
Why’s Khabib so strangely focused on Irish people speaking English as a dig? It’s practically been his main attack towards McGregor in this entire build to fight night! I thought maybe when nobody really reacted to it the first few times he went off on tangents about native languages, somebody would tell him that nobody, not the Irish, not the Russians, and not even the Americans give a flying fuck that they primarily speak English in Ireland now.
I GUESS it’d be one thing if Conor McGregor couldn’t speak Ireland’s native tongue, as Khabib initially accused him of not being able to do, but he immediately showed that he does, in fact, speak Gaelic, and there’s even prior examples of him speaking it over the years to back that up! So like, what’s the dig against some lads speakin’ English in Dublin? Even the fans he was directly shit talking were perplexed. There was just a general vibe of “Wait – no, we don’t actually care about that. Roast us on something we do so we can actually start mixin’ things up!” coming from all of the folk from across the pond.
