I'm Having Difficulty Understanding How This Anthony Duclair Goal Was Possible

Just some nasty, nasty, downright filthy wizardry from Anthony Duclair right here. Now granted, this goal should probably come with an asterisk considering it’s coming against the Philadelphia Flyers defense and a Philadelphia Flyers backup goalie. But still. This was borderline offensive how sick this goal was.

It goes from being part of a blooper reel with Duclair blowing out a tire trying to slam on the brakes. But what transpires after that should have Christian Folin considering retirement during the 1st intermission here in Columbus. The kneeling toe-drag around Folin, getting back up to his feet, and then stuffing that shit in the back of the net. I can’t tell if this was a nasty goal by Duclair, a ridiculously worthless effort on defense by Folin, or a moment where Calvin Pickard forgot he’s a goalie in the National Hockey League and he’s supposed to stop the puck. I think it’s a little combination of the 3 of those things, but it’s like 60% nasty move by Duclair and 20% of the others.

This is the Anthony Duclair that the NHL was promised when he was first drafted by New York. The Rangers got rid of him before they even gave him a chance for Yandle. Then he never really found a fit in Chicago. But maybe this is the start of the Anthony Duclair show. Sucks it had to happen against the Flyers but oh well.
