Benny Snell And Josh Allen Teased Vanderbilt Long Enough Before Kentucky Ripped Vandy's Heart Out

Perhaps you didn’t catch the Kentucky/Vanderbilt game. But, it doesn’t matter. Benny Snell showed the world just how damn good he is by literally putting the entire offense on his back. Kentucky won a game with just 18 passing yards. 18! In the SEC. That doesn’t happen. I don’t care if it was against Vanderbilt, you don’t win a SEC game with 18 passing yards ever. But, you do if you have Benny Snell. Despite getting banged up he still ran for 169 yards on 32 carries, including the game-winning touchdown.

Now, it wasn’t all Benny Snell. It was Kentucky’s defense led by the good, nay, great Josh Allen. The Josh Allen that deserves all the hype. All he did was seal the game for the second time this season with a strip sack at the end of the game.

Really, you can make a case that the defense won the game. Kentucky had no flow to the offense early, led by two fumbles, which set up Vandy’s lone score. However, they continued to force 3-and-outs. They continued to make stops. They stopped Vandy late in the game on a 4th and 1 with a fumble by our guy Kash Daniel. It was a pretty dominant defensive performance by one of the best defenses in the country. That’s weird to say, but it’s actually true.

But, all that matters is this is a different season. I tweeted it out going into the 4th quarter. It was weird to think, but it was true. That quarter was going to define a special season vs same old Stoops/Kentucky football. Start hot, lose a game you shouldn’t and all fall apart. But, then the stars took over.

Now, Kentucky is one game from essentially playing for an SEC East title. Yes, top-15 ranked Kentucky football if you want to be more precise. If they can go to Missouri and beat the Tigers, they host Georgia on Nov. 3. If Georgia beats Florida next week that UGa/Kentucky game is for the SEC East title. If Florida beats Georgia then in theory Kentucky would need to win the 3 remaining games since Florida just has 1 loss still in the SEC.

But, this season is so special that Kash Daniel broke his right hand and decided to put the cast on his left. Ultimate football guy move.
