Amy Schumer Is The Bravest Human Alive

Can everyone please take a second and give Amy Schumer a salute and thank her for her bravery this morning? I know we like to joke around on the internet blog, but some things are bigger than that. Amy Schumer, what a hero:

The Hill – Actress Amy Schumer pledged not to do any commercials for the Super Bowl this year to support former NFL player Colin Kaepernick.

Schumer took to Instagram on Friday and she asked her representatives not to book her for any of the major advertisements.

“I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all I got,” Schumer wrote. “Hitting the NFL with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them.”

Her declaration came following reports that singer Rihanna rejected an offer to headline the football game’s halftime show in support of Kaepernick.

Schumer called on the scheduled act, Maroon 5, to do the same.

I mean really think about what we’re talking about here. She went on her Instagram to ask her representatives not to put her in a Super Bowl commercial. What are we even talking about anymore? First of all, how narcissistic to think you need to let everyone know publically that you won’t be in a Super Bowl commercial. Like, if Amy Schumer wasn’t in a Super Bowl commercial would anyone even notice? Is that something people would talk about? “Boy, that was a heckuva football game last night, but where was Amy Schumer?”

I mean I can’t stop reading this quote from her: “Hitting the NFL with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them.” NOBODY CARES IF YOU ARE IN A COMMERCIAL. YOU AREN’T HURTING THE NFL. SHUT UP. So ridiculous. There are so many ways you can make a social impact, touting yourself about being in an ad isn’t in the top 50.

So at this point, I would also like to take this opportunity to say I also will not be in any Super Bowl ads this year. Now please, shower me with praise!

Finally, her trying to shame Maroon 5 out of performing is ridiculous. Forcing your politics on other people and trying to get people to shame them for doing the halftime show on the biggest night of the year, fuck outta here. Trying to paint Maroon 5 as some sort of villain? Uhhh, sorry for all the bangers. Amy Schumer stinks.
