NFL Power Rankings - Week 7

We are nearing the halfway point of the NFL season and we are finally started to see which teams will be true contenders for the Super Bowl.

As always, make sure to get mad online and comment or tweet at me with your anger over how I disrespected your team in these super important rankings. Thanks!

32

The worst team in the NFL just traded away their former first-round pick in Amari Cooper and lost Marshawn Lynch for the season. Yikes!

31

This team got absolutely boat-raced at home against the Broncos and now their best player, Patrick Peterson, has requested a trade.

30

By virtue of the Cardinals looking so terrible, the Giants moved up in the rankings, but don’t get me wrong, they’re still terrible.

29

Another team that moved up despite a loss, the 49ers get to play all three teams below them in the next three weeks.

28

After their first close loss of the season, the Bills got dominated by the Colts and now have to decide between Derek Anderson or Nathan Peterman at quarterback. Yuck.

27

The Colts have suffered some brutal losses so far this year, so it was nice to see them just have a game where they could coast and get their second win of the season.

26

It’s become obvious that the Jets are the most boom-or-bust team in the NFL, they either win with an impressive offensive output or get run off of the field.

25

How the fuck has this team not fired Hue Jackson yet?

24

It might have been against the Cardinals, but the Broncos finally snapped a tough losing streak as they head into a matchup with a Chiefs team they nearly beat a few weeks ago.

23

The Seahawks are still alive in the NFC at 3-3 but now face a brutal schedule with games against the Lions, Chargers, Rams, Packers, and Panthers.

22

It took some look, but the Buccaneers were able to get back on track after squeaking out a win over the Browns despite an awful second half performance.

21

The Cowboys quickly diverted attention away from their tough loss to the Redskins by trading a first round pick (okay then…) for Amari Cooper.

20

While it will still be a tall task, the Falcons have quietly crept back into the playoff discussion in the NFC after a disastrous start.

19

I am beginning to think that the Dolphins aren’t very good.

18

What the hell is happening in Jacksonville? They dynamite defense seems broken and now they have a quarterback controversy between Cody Kessler and Blake Bortles.

17

I don’t think the Texans are the best team in the AFC South, but that doesn’t really matter because they clawed their way to the top of the division.

16

Somehow, the Eagles blew a 17-point lead at home to the Panthers. I still think they’re a good team that is struggling to find a groove, but they are one bad loss from dropping down pretty far in the rankings.

15

The Titans have to be kicking themselves after going for two and the win in London, especially considering that they were clearly the better team against the Chargers in the second half.

14

After a heart-breaking loss to the Steelers, the Bengals responded with a dud performance against Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs.

13

Are the Lions… good? I am not sure, but their season is back on track as they head into a game against the mediocre Seahawks before two big divisional tilts against the Vikings and Bears.

12

Justin Tucker blowing a game for the Ravens is about as bizarre as it gets, but the Ravens slide down a slot after a tough loss at home to the Saints.

11

It was a gutsy win for the Panthers on the road against the Super Bowl Champions. Having Greg Olsen back is huge as they contend for the division with the Saints.

10

The Redskins are two games up in the loss column in the NFC East and have a real shot to control the division before they even get a chance to face the Eagles in December.

09

It’s hard to drop the Bears down much after losing to New England, but their defense, which was considered one of the Top 3 in the league, might have been exposed a bit.

08

The Packers were idle this week but are in good shape for the rest of the season with a middle-of-the-road schedule in terms of difficulty.

07

Another team on a bye, the Steelers are in great shape after a slow start, even with the ongoing saga involving Le’Veon Bell.

06

Adam Theilen is so fucking good, and the Vikings are finally starting to look more and more like the team we thought we’d see in the beginning of the season.

05

It was a tough second half for the Chargers in London, and they were one play away from losing the game, but, nevertheless, they chug along with the second-best record in the AFC.

04

The Saints won another game thanks to the opposing team’s kicker blowing an extra point, but they remain one of the better offenses in the NFL after scoring 24 points on a stout Ravens defense.

03

We already knew how good the Chiefs were on offense heading into their game against the Bengals (they didn’t punt once for the first time since 2000), but the defense finally looked good against what had been a consistent Bengals offense.

02

The Patriots scored at will against one of the top defenses in the league this week and early-season doubters continue to look like idiots as this team marches along.

01

Through seven weeks of the season, it’s clear the Rams are the best team in the NFL and, despite a hard schedule, should be the clear favorites in each game from here on out.

See you next week.
