Patrick Reed Was Asked About The Ryder Cup...

So first things first, Patrick Reed sucked at the Ryder Cup, didn’t play for several weeks, then came out SWINGING in Shanghai. In the first round he hit 18/18 greens in regulation, posted an 8-under 64, and has been over there doing shit like this.

God damn you, Patrick.

This is the first time we’ve seen him since he delivered some explosive post-Ryder Cup comments to the NY Times. After his second round in Shanghai, he was asked about the Ryder Cup and said this:

“Ryder Cup was three, almost four weeks ago. Right now I’m just trying to play great golf and finish off the year right. Because even though the PGA Tour season has now started, for the European Tour, it’s still going on. I’m a little bit behind Francesco [Molinari] in that and I’m hoping to close that gap and have a chance to hopefully win the Race to Dubai.”

Honestly I don’t mind what Patrick Reed said after the Ryder Cup. I kind of loved it. He buried Furyk’s decision making and buried Furyk and Spieth’s press conference comments. I love the controversy and the railroading. I love the gossip. I love the speculation. It breathes life into these characters who can often times be brutally bland. I followed it through every twist and turn. It was awesome.

I don’t mind what he said — I mind that he played next to Tiger Woods in Paris and played like shit. I mind that he sucked with TW then won his singles match, took time off, flew to China and shot 64. What the fuck is that? Guy couldn’t hit the golf course with Tiger but now he’s miraculously good again? It’s infuriating.

I don’t mind selfish, villainous Patrick Reed. I actually kind of like him. But when he starts affecting GOAT, we have a problem.
