Raccoon Falls Through Lawyer's Ceiling & Goes Full Mike Tyson On His Ear

Absolute unit. Edward Barousse, a lawyer living in Lafayette, LA, got up close & personal with a trash panda who’d been living in his ceiling this week.

From HOT107.9

I was awoken by some kind of scampering noise in the attic space directly above me. Before I could determine what was going on, and while looking up at the ceiling, both sheetrock and a large animal fell directly on top of me. I jumped out of bed and turned on the lights. It was a large raccoon about the size of a medium dog.

I put on bulky clothing, leather work gloves, and started the process of closing doors to limit where it could run. It took about 15 minutes to avoid the raccoon, close doors, and open the front door so it could run out.

Apparently the critter was channeling some serious Mike Tyson vibes & went straight for Barousse’s ear.

Once my left ear was cleaned it was discovered that a piece of it had come off almost completely. It all could have been much worse- the raccoon could have scratched my eyes or my face. I have five or six stitches in my ear, and it looks pretty gross, but I am expected to make a full recovery.

One of the more startling things to me was scrolling through the comments & reading how many people were like, “Oh yeah, raccoons in the attic. Happened to us before, too!” Once a massive hive of bees lived above my bedroom & almost bit their way through the drywall (perhaps I shouldn’t have ignored that crinkly sound all summer long) but that’s the closest I’ve come to any sort of nightmare like this.

In Michigan this past spring a mom raccoon & her five babies came crashing down on a couch. The mom ran off & the babies just chilled there nice & snug while big burly firemen freaked out trying to wrastle ‘em.

If any type of raccoon were to fall through the ceiling here at Barstool I’d imagine it’s this kind.
