Gas Money Bob's Week 11 Bears Preview

September 19th, 1985, I’m sure everyone reading this remembers that day vividly. That was the game that the Bears were playing the Vikings on Thursday night and Jim McMahon didn’t start because he was hurt/injured. Down 17-9 in the 3rd quarter the Punky QB annoyed Coach Ditka unitl he let him into the game and the Bears went on to kick the living shit out of the Vikings 33-24.

Why do I bring this up? Because it was awesome and because the Bears are going to kick the living shit out of the Vikings on a prime time night game again on this Super Bowl run.

All-Time Head to Head:

Shockingly the Vikings lead the all-time series 60-52-2.

This is a little misleading because the Vikes have won 8 of the last 11 while the Bears were being coached by Trestman and Fox. So you figure if we had Nagy during that time we would have won all 11 so it would be knotted up.

Either way, the Bears will get one back tonight.

Weather Report:

This has me pretty excited.

32 Degrees (feels 26)

Precipitation 0%

Humidity 78%

Wind WSW  6mph

Think about a soft little dome team coming into Chicago to play in this kind of cold. How can a team that is based in a city with awesome winter weather build a dome? So stupid. This weather gives us the advantage over every other team in the league. To each their own.

What are the Odds:

Bears -2.5

Over/Under 43.5

Two good defenses so you would assume the under will hit. Forget about that, give me the Bears covering the 2.5 and the over. This is going to be a fun game and the Bears will prevail. I’ll pretend that this is my bet but it’s really my buddy’s.

Fantasy Start ‘em Sit ‘em:

Start ‘em:

Mitch Trubisky 274 yards 2 TD

Tarik Cohen 72 yards rushing  5 rec 83 yards receivng and a TD

Trey Burton 6 rec 101 yards 1 TD

Sit ‘em:

Kirk Cousins 217 yards 1 TD 2 INT

Delvin Cook 68 yards rushing 1 TD 2 rec 24 yards

Kyle Rudolph 2 rec 27 yards 0 TD

The weather is going to be an issue for the Viking offense and the Bears O is just not defensible so the Bears guys should put up big numbers and the Vikings guys shouldn’t, adjust your lineups accordingly.

The Vikings:

Offense: Thielen, Cook, and Diggs have all been hurt this season so I don’t think they are 100%. Since they’re being such babies about the weather I doubt they really want to be out there at all. Not expecting a big game but they are a decent team so they’ll likely score a TD or two.

Defense: This is a pretty good unit with guys like Smith, Barr, Rhodes, and Griffen, but Rhodes has been banged up and Griffen isn’t well mentally so I don’t think they are running on all cylinders. They’ll make it a little difficult for us at times, but with Nagy’s schemes and a stud behind center the Bears will make enough plays to win the game.

Da Bears:

Offense: One of the premier offenses in the NFL. Prime time in front of the best fans in football should juice this squad up for a great game. I respect the Vikings D but this Bears offense is on another level. Mitch and the boys are going to have some fun tonight.

Defense: This is going to be special. The Vikings don’t want to play in the cold and this Bears defense is going to make their lives miserable. When you’re used to playing in a dome taking a hit from guys like Mack, Smith or Hicks hurts 10 times more. Cousins is not going to “like that”.

The Fans:

Bears: Our Head Coach, Matt Nagy, requested that we be extra loud this week, so if you are at the game tonight please do not disappoint. The 4th Phase is the single most important factor in this game. If a Viking fan is sitting by you mke sure their ears are ringing by the time they leave in the 3rd quarter.

Vikings: WTF does Skol mean? OK I just googled it it means Cheers. I’m actually kind of good with that, I like to drink. But it doesn’t take away from the fact that Vikings fans are almost as trashy as Packer fans. Look at these idiots.

Fun Fact: Minneapolis/St. Paul is famous for a cheeseburger called the Juicy Lucy that burns the shit out of your mouth when you take the first bite so you can’t tell if the burger was actually good or not. Its probably really delicious but no one will ever know.

Game Prediction:

Bears 29

Vikings 16

Coming Up Next Week: We head to Detroit on Thanksgiving Day and tahnak the Lions for giving us another easy victory.
