We Have Verified Proof the British Understand the Rogers vs. Brady Debate Better Than Max Kellerman

I didn’t want to make this Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady thing into a fight. By any objective standard Rodgers is very good at quarterbacking. He leads the NFL in passes of 40-plus yards. He’s a guy impossible not to like unless you happen to be his dickhead brother. It’s a big world and there’s plenty of room in it for us all to agree Rodgers and Brady are great.

But when professional GOAT-deniers like Max Kellerman can sit there and say with a straight face that nobody has ever affected the outcome of games like Rodgers, mention other players are in the conversation and never mention Brady, then he started this war. He drew first blood. You asked me, I didn’t ask you. On ESPN you’re the law. Out here it’s me. Don’t push it! Don’t push it or I’ll give you a war you won’t believe.

Starting with this:

A stat so astonishing, that even the BBC is talking about it:

0-37. 0 and 37. Or if you’re writing that on out on a personal check it’d read “Zero and thirty-seven.” Winless in 37 tries, which is almost two-and-a-half regular seasons. Roll that around in your head for a second before we move on. All set? Let’s continue.

I’ll agree with the dapper British host that as stats go, that one is a little convoluted. And specific. But there is simply no way to spin the fact that you can’t be the Greatest of All Time and not be able to pull out close games in the 4th quarter against above average teams. Not when you have the ball in your hands every single play. And for goddamned sure not when “no player has more sway over the outcome of a game.”

So when the Kellermans of the world continue to insist that the guy who’s 4-6-1 has all the “sway,” but the guy  “going to be a bum in short order” for the last three seasons:

Kellerman

…is 8-3, it can’t go unanswered.

Cliff Kellerman doesn’t seem to want to accept the fact you’re dealing with an expert in GOAT arguments. With a man who’s the best, with stats, with records, with his bare hands. A man who’s been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. On the Wall, my job is to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. So let it go. Let it go. Or bring a good supply of body bags.
