MUST WATCH: The Hershey Bears Teddy Bear Toss Broke The Teddy Bear Toss Record With Nearly 35k Stuffed Animals Flying Onto The Ice
Last night was the Hershey Bears teddy bear toss, the annual tradition where fans throw stuffed animals onto the ice after the first goal to donate to charity. Teams across the minors and juniors take part in the awesome tradition, and the Caps AHL affiliate had theirs last night. And not only did they have a teddy bear toss, they had a WORLD RECORD teddy bear toss.
Nearly 35,000 stuffed animals were launched onto the ice in the first period of the game yesterday. What does 35k flying stuffed animals look like? Strap in, because it’s phenomenal.

SI - The Bears say the bears will be donated to 30 different local organizations for distribution to needy kids. In addition to the toys, the night also produced tens of thousands of dollars in monetary donations. Pennsylvania charity CommunityAid had pledged to donate 50 cents per stuffed animal thrown (up to $15,000) and an anonymous season ticket holder pledged $1 per stuffed animal.
