We've Got A New Captain Marvel Trailer Folks And It Still Looks Awesome
It’s that time of year again, where nerds everywhere are watching full first halves of NFL games to catch a sci-fi trailer at halftime, and this time around it’s ‘Captain Marvel’, the next installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We got our first look at this flick – the only one left before the highly anticipated (and untitled) ‘Avengers 4′ – back in September, and pretty much everyone and their mothers were in the second Brie Larson punched some grandma in the face…
…but this time around, we got to see Granny hit back, and folks – she’s doin’ flips.
Ain’t seen moves like that out of an oldie’ since ’05!
I coulda stopped watching right then and there, because Marvel’s already got my $27.30 (or whatever an NYC movie ticket’ll cost by March), but I continued, and felt like this trailer was a pretty good indication that we’ll be seeing something unlike we ever have in the MCU come next year. Not only in the obvious – this being Marvel’s first female-led superhero film – but in tone, genre, time period, setting, etc.
Even just this one cut from what appears to be a space battle was such a breath of fresh air in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, something I definitely don’t need a fresh breath from!
…and obviously, the helmet being nailed as much as it is helps with my enjoyment of that shot as well.
I loved this trailer, though, as I did the last one, and can’t wait till the Avengers one drops. We’re itchin’ for it.
P.S. Can we start putting de-aged Samuel L Jackson in all movies? Literally all of ‘em. Just have de-aged Sam Jackson be the hottest actor in the world. Why not?
