Wingsuit Team Comes Within One Inch Of Being Destroyed By A Giant Boulder After Jumping Off The Side Of A Cliff
I’m such a sucker for these types of videos. Think about how fun that would be. Jumping off a cliff and flying down to the base of a mountain. Sure, you make one false move and you turn into pink dust, but that’s okay. You wouldn’t even know you’re dead. The best part would be getting scared to death. Like, I bet when they saw this coming all their wing suits turned brown. You can’t get that type of high anywhere else. Look at how fast they approach the ground. These two photos are two seconds apart.
I think people underestimate just how fast these guys are going and how much body control you need to have in order to keep yourself on track. I went indoor skydiving once (obviously not the same thing) and they explained how to change your direction in air. Basically, you dip the elbow in the direction you want to move. So, if I wanted to go right, I’d dip my right elbow. If I wanted to go left, I’d dip my left. You can also slow down or speed up based on how much you arch your back and align your body. What I’m trying to say is that these guys have to be unbelievably confident and skilled to be able to fly through the air with that level of accuracy. And it’s a MIRACLE that they didn’t crash into that splash mountain-looking pile of rocks and thorns at the bottom.
They actually post the entire journey on the Red Bull YouTube page that’s worth checking out if you have the fourteen minutes. Here it is.
