Cavs Fans Take #MeVsNuggets Challenge, Man Eats 130 Chicken Nuggets While Denver Nuggets Score 124 Points

Each year, Cleveland Cavalier fans participate in the #MeVsNuggets Challenge, in which they try to out-eat the Nuggets point total in their matchup with Denver. While Cleveland’s 9-38 record may be turning fans off from attending Cavs games, having the worst record in the NBA did nothing to deter folks from sitting at home and attempting to eat over a hundred nuggets last night.

The combination of the fast-paced Denver offense and the terrible, tanking Cavs defense meant that the challengers were in for a long night, as the Nuggets over/under in Vegas was set at 124.5. While many Cavs fans took the challenge in the comfort of their own living room where they could mix dipping sauces, keep the chicken warm in the oven, and have easy access to the bathroom, one man (wearing a Denver jersey) decided to take the challenge into the Pepsi Center in Denver, if his Twitter followers would spread the word.

He got over 600 retweets, meaning it was time to load up on the nugs.

Burger King???? Eh, idk man. I know they’re running that special where you can get 10 nuggets for like $1.49, but if we’re talking eating 150 of something, Burger King may be my last stop. This is a pro-Wendy’s nuggets blog. Then Chick-fil-A. Then McDonalds? Then Burger King. But whatever floats your boat, man. 150 nuggets secured. Now how did he get them into the arena?

The old “try and look fat” move. Love it. Big Ev would not. But yeah, he snuck 150 nuggets through security in a winter jacket. Then it was officially time to start eating. Especially since the Nuggets were on FIRE early.

37 points through one? That is on pace for 150 nuggets! The kid in the arena didn’t update us, but a kid from home was CRUISING.

Love the headphones. Completely focused. But all the focus in the world couldn’t stop the Nuggets in the first half. The challengers were in trouble. 70 points after 2 quarters was a blistering pace.

What a night to shoot the lights out.

Okay, so you’re probably wondering where all the updates from the kid in the arena are. I am wondering the same question. He was very good about updating his followers, until the eating actually had to start. He’s the only two updates he gave throughout the entire game.

And then out of the clouds he announced that he beat the Nuggets 130-124!

Now, I really hate to do this on his special night, but I do have one question for this Grant guy: when did you eat the nuggets…….? He literally only posted two tweets from his account during the entire game, none of which showed him eating any nuggets, and then said after the game that he ate 130. How do you not go live with this? How do you not take pictures during each quarter of you eating? This whole thing realllllly stinks if you ask me. All he would’ve had to do is show a couple videos of him downing nuggets, or a couple pictures of the empty nugget boxes, but he just went with the “trust me, I ate 130 nuggets” philosophy. However, since he is in the United States Air Force (he has a picture of that), I will not question his integrity on this matter. Great job last night, Grant. And thank you for your service.
