Jordan Spieth And Patrick Reed Hugged It Out This Morning After All Of Their Drama

Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed are paired up at the Farmers Insurance Open this morning so last night everybody was like, “Well what is that interaction gonna be like? Are they going to ignore each other? Are they gonna wrestle? Is Reed gonna sit on Spieth? Is Reed’s wife gonna come sprinting out of the gallery and attack Spieth with her shoe?” Nobody knew, golfers included probably. Well the moment finally came this morning…………and they hugged. Spieth initiated it and they hugged it out like Ari Gold and E.

In case you don’t remember, this is what Patrick Reed said post-Ryder Cup to the New York Times after he and Spieth weren’t paired together in France

“The issue’s obviously with Jordan not wanting to play with me,” Reed said. “I don’t have any issue with Jordan. When it comes right down to it, I don’t care if I like the person I’m paired with or if the person likes me as long as it works and it sets up the team for success. He and I know how to make each other better. We know how to get the job done.”

“I was looking at (Jordan) like I was about to light the room up like Phil in ’14,” Reed said.

We know now that Team USA was as dysfunctional as ever and that Reed and Spieth were just a part of it.

And then there was this comment from Reed at Bay Hill when he was denied a free drop

So there was a lot and basically all of it was caused by Reed but Spieth took the high road this morning and went in for the hug. It’s good to see these two Ryder Cup legends (hopefully) burying the hatchet once and for all.
