We've Got A Massive Brawl Involving Head Coaches, Players And A Star Player's Mom On The Court
I’d like to see hockey guys say basketball needs enforcers now. This is the definition of a brawl. We have Howard’s head coach being held back from going at Norfolk State players. We have concessions flying from the stands.
These two teams are rivals with Howard blowing a 22 point lead. And woo buddy, these guys really wanted to fight after that. I mean, I don’t blame them Losing a 22 point lead to your rival sucks. Gotta change the story then and have everyone talk about the fight instead of the game.
You know who the real MVP of this whole scenario was though? This cop in the middle:
He was not to be trifled with. He was ending this brawl and I’m pretty sure the one man right there held back 20. He can play on my team any time.
The 2nd strongest man? Number 13 on Howard, Charles Williams – their 2nd leading scorer at 19 per game. He starts by dragging who I’m pretty sure is RJ Cole out of the scrap like a big brother teasing a little brother:
Then he continues to hold him back and delivers one of the finest form tackles that even the NFL couldn’t throw a flag on him:
Then I went and read more about this fight on the Washington Post and RJ Cole (who has NBA potential and is Howard’s star) has a mother who will fuck you right on up. I love her. I haven’t met her yet, but I love her. Just exactly what a mother would say and she backs those words up:
Javicia Cole, mother of Howard sophomore R.J Cole, found her way onto the Burr floor during the incident.
“[Norfolk State] started talking and shoving,” Cole said. “What got me involved was when the [Norfolk State] coach started saying stuff to my son! That’s a no go. He’s a grown man, take your two-point win and go home.”
I may just have to watch the rematch in early March live. Actually, I may need to attend and sit next to Javicia. She’s my favorite person.
