Imagine The Beatles Suddenly Didn't Exist Tomorrow, And You "Wrote" All Of Their Songs...That's Danny Boyle's Next Movie
Before you say anything – WATCH THE TRAILER.
Trust me, when Jeff D Lowe just sent this over to me, and I read the synopsis, I thought it was some horrible, fake, parody movie trailer, somehow edited by the movie boys to turn into NBC’s ‘The Slap’. I literally said, “Jeff, don’t do this to me.” before being reassured this video wasn’t one of these…
When I watched the trailer, though, I was legitimately blown away. This movie looks fucking phenomenal in every way, shape, and form.
It’s such a shockingly simple concept, and one I’ve honestly thought about before (I feel like every shitty musician probably has?), but when paired with the greatest band of all time, The Beatles, and Danny Boyle (of Slumdog Millionaire), it may just be my frontrunner for Best Picture of 2019. I’m not even kidding.
I went on a full on roller coaster ride of emotions throughout the trailer alone, DYING to know who’s coming in to claim these Beatles tunes, if things are going to revert back to normal by the end, how becoming the “greatest songwriter of all time” is going to effect his relationships and mindset knowing his life is a lie…it’s perfect.
Only one gripe/plothole I’ve got – if this were real, I doubt the dude who rewrote The Beatles’ entire catalogue would so much as get fifteen hundred streams combined on everything he put out, because the public’s taste in music right now is…not what it used to be, to put it lightly.
I’ll stop being a bitter old “born in le wrong generation” twerp now, though. Only good vibes for Danny Boyle’s ‘Yesterday’ from here on out.
P.S. Can’t wait for the eventual remake in twenty years where Big Ev hits his head and decides to rewrite the Migos’ lengthy library of ever-so-influential tunes.
