T.I. Drops A Diss Track About Floyd Mayweather Being A Bad Community Member
Last night T.I. renewed his lasting feud with Floyd Mayweather and dropped a diss track directed at the undefeated boxer. A departure from the usual script of diss tracks where rappers might brag about having fucked the other’s bitch or insinuate their subject is faking a tough image, T.I.’s track is actually about how bad of a community member Floyd is.
Look at some of the lyrics:
Damn, it must suck to be a f*ck n*gga
Ol’ greedy ass n*gga only thinking ’bout himself
They get the fame, then get the wealth
But people are struggling, who did you help?
And:
I ain’t made as much as you have
Purses you grab could feed some countries out in Africa
You just go buy a Lamb or Bugatti
Or something else that depreciate when you drive it off the lot
And:
There’s a water crisis down in flint and ain’t you from Michigan
Where’s your empathy, n*gga?
Well damn! Fuck a flex about cars, we’ve got bars about depreciation. We’ve got bars about Flint, about girls getting kidnapped, about scholarships and giving back to the community. How far rap has come.
This all stemmed from this week’s revelation that Gucci has been selling garments that look a lot like a racist depiction of stereotypical black face cartoons.
In response to this, T.I., among many others, called for a Gucci boycott. One of the most shocking revelations was T.I. saying he spent SEVEN FIGURES a year on Gucci. SEVEN FIGURES?? That is an astonishing amount of brand loyalty.
Floyd, however, didn’t give one fuck.
This is just the latest saga in the feud between the two. They have been at odds since 2014, with T.I. even trying to flight Floyd outside of a Fatburger on the Vegas strip. Unless it was an elaborate Fatburger ad, the bad blood has been boiling between these two for a some time.
It goes even deeper. The reason they were fighting back then? It was purported that Floyd copulated with T.I.’s wife Tiny. And who purported that? Mayweather himself.
So, yeah, this feud goes pretty deep. And while T.I.’s diss centers around Floyd not giving back to the community and refusing to boycott Gucci, there are clearly long-standing issues that are being addressed.
The diss track itself? Smooth as fuck. Very listenable. Just be careful asking Alexa to play it.
Finally, Floyd responded on Instagram to the entire ordeal. My only question is, who wrote it for him?
