FOX Announces Their "Mount Rushmore of College Football" Crew To Compete With The #1 Pregame Show in America

Today, FOX Sports announces plans for its new college football pregame show, featuring some of the biggest names to have played or coached the sport in the last 15 years. Host Rob Stone sits alongside a panel of analysts comprised of three-time national championship coach Urban Meyer, USC legends Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart and record-setting Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn. The one-hour show airs each Saturday during the college football season on the FOX broadcast network beginning Week 1.

Well, if you want to compete with the undisputed #1 college football pregame show in America, I guess you need to get some big names to do it. And that’s exactly what FOX Sports is trying to do here. Take down the big guns with this group that people are calling the “Mount Rushmore of College Football over the last 15 years”.

Pretty big praise, but can you disagree? Urban Meyer, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, and Brady Quinn are HUGE names. I can only think of maybe Tim Tebow and Nick Saban as bigger stars in the college football world since 2000. So when you think about it, they probably do have a little more firepower than their main competition on Saturday mornings.

Barstool will still clearly have a more entertaining product than FOX, but they do have two* Heisman trophy winners and the undeniable greatest coach of all time on their broadcast. So I guess people may decide to go picture in picture at times to see both. On the other hand, there is a third pregame show that is going to be in big trouble if they don’t figure out how to compete with the big boys.

BORING! Same product as the FOX group, but with mediocre coaches, injury prone players, and one Heisman winner instead of two. This will be just like if two people from the same political party ran in the Presidential Election. Fox and ESPN will split the votes of those people that have the charisma of an ant and are worried about the most boring, bland analysis of the games, and then the people that enjoy a mixture of sports and humor will tune in to Barstool.

Will there be any beer chugging on this new Fox show? Doubtful. Shoutout to Big Ev and Ohio State though. And speaking of Ohio State, wtf Coach Meyer? I thought you were teaching Leadership Classes and focusing on being our Assistant Athletic Director?

Don’t tell me you’re getting back into the game….I trusted you!
