Aurora Kid Who Went Missing In 2011 Looks To Be Alive And Seemingly "Well" In Ohio ***UPDATE*** It Was NOT Him

Police in Sharonville, Ohio, said in a short incident report that a 14-year-old boy told authorities Wednesday that he had “just escaped from two kidnappers” he described as white men with body builder-type physiques. They were in Ford SUV with Wisconsin license plates and had been staying at a Red Roof Inn.

The boy told police that after his escape he “kept running across a bridge into” Kentucky.

Police believe Amy Fry-Pitzen picked up her 6-year-old son from school and took him to the zoo and a Wisconsin water park before she apparently killed herself. Her body was found with her wrists slit in a Rockford, Illinois, hotel on May 15, 2011.

The FBI said in a statement that its offices in Louisville and Cincinnati were working with local law enforcement and Aurora police on a missing child investigation. The FBI offered no other details.

Aurora Police Sgt. Bill Rowley said Aurora police can’t provide any additional information at this time either. Rowley reportedly said “It could be Pitzen. It could be a hoax.”

Now assuming this is indeed not a hoax, here’s your sad-yet-feel-good story of the day.  I say “assuming” because I find it mildly hard to believe that a random kid in a Cincinnati, OH suburb would even think of hatching “I’m gonna pose as a kidnapped 11 year old from a Chicago suburb” scheme.  Obviously the world is a fucked up place and crazier shit has happened, but I digress.  Here is the link to the full incident report

I grew up in a town over from Aurora and remember this happening somewhat vividly, so I wanted to touch on it this morning.  I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a national story today.  It’s scary how shit like this can happen in suburbia, but here we are.

People in the area assumed the mother took her son’s life before taking her own, even though she left a “suicide note” stating he was alive and well.  Obviously they never found a body and most people assumed he was dead, but now that this story is in the news, all of that appears to not be the case.  I can’t imagine the mental hell that this kid went through over the last 7-8 years.  For him to not be fully tranced and taken over with Stockholm Syndrome is incredible to me.

Here’s to really hoping that this kid is doing okay and can return to a normal life, all things considered.  I’m sure a lot more info is going to pour out over the next 24 hours, and maybe we’ll even find out that his alleged captors were the ones who took his mom’s life and it wasn’t suicide, that they apprehend whoever kidnapped him and throw them in jail for the rest of their goddamn lives.

This is seriously painful to write.  This story just got a whole lot crazier, as it turns out the kid found in Cincinnati was NOT Pitzen.  No idea how anyone not from the Chicagoland area has any clue to even think of posing as Pitzen, but here we are.  Something stinks to high heavens.  Full details in the link below, but this is a really shitty situation…
