CNBC Has A Great Trick To Save Money On Tipping, Tip Like An Asshole
If you’re new to the internet let me tell you a little secret: tipping is a HOT BUTTON issue. People fucking love to talk about it. Twitter is basically all dogs, memes, screaming about how much you tip, and saying Trump stinks. That’s the whole platform. I like to consider myself a great tipper, sometimes I fuck up and don’t know I’m supposed to tip a person, but if I’m aware that tipping should take place then I think I’m a great tipper.
That’s why I’m comfortable calling CNBC a bunch of idiot assholes here. That’s clear, as they’re getting their faces ratio’d off on this tweet, but it’s just the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. It’s not a tipping trick, doubling the tax, it’s just tipping less. Giving less money isn’t a trick, it’s being a shit. “Spend less money” isn’t a financial tip it’s just saying something obvious. Tipping is always done on the post-tax amount and it’s always done at 20%, if you can’t afford that then you shouldn’t eat out. I don’t care about service or anything, if I’ve been served then you’re getting 20% at least. Food took too long? Twenty percent. My order was incorrect? Twenty percent. You spit in my food while putting it in front of me and maintained eye contact the entire time? Twenty percent. The only thing that will actually annoy me when I’m out is if it takes too long for the bill to come, either after the meal or after I’ve given my card, and even then I’ll just give you twenty percent then bitch about how long it took to my friends for the rest of the week.
Everyone involved in this video should be embarrassed. The people who birthed the idea, the terrible actors and their jokes, the producers, the social media team that put out out, everybody. But the people who should be most embarrassed are the random folks on the street. I mean what the hell was that? Not a single person said they tip an acceptable amount. 10%, 15%, 10%, a bad joke, and 5 bucks. Get the FUCK out of here, you scumbags. I thought I was a fine tipper but after watching that incredibly small sample size I’m pretty sure every waiter I’ve ever had quits immediately after I exit the restaurant then retire to a private island. Give 20% or you’re a shithead. Hell, I even tip 20% in Europe when I’m told the waiters will laugh at me for being an naive idiot but I’m just so trained on 20% that I feel bad not doing it in any circumstance.
