Rihanna And Childish Gambino Just Dropped A Movie On Amazon And It Looks Unreal
Guava Island, the new movie starring Childish Gambino and Rihanna, is finally available to stream. Watch it for free via Amazon Prime Video until 9 p.m. Eastern, or afterwards with a Prime membership. A clip is available below. The film will also play on Coachella’s YouTube live stream at 5:00 p.m. Pacific/8:00 p.m. Eastern.
Guava Island premiered Thursday night at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and will continue to show throughout the festival. The film, directed by frequent Childish Gambino collaborator Hiro Murai, centers on a musician “determined to throw a festival for everyone to enjoy” who runs into some trouble. The “tropical thriller” stars Black Panther’s Letitia Wright alongside Riri and Glover.
Childish Gambino performed at Coachella last night and debuted a new movie featuring none other than… Rihanna. It had been rumored and teased for a little while amongst “rap internet” people but this is the official debut. It features Gambino’s music and was shot in Cuba by Hiro Murai who has done a shitload of his music videos, all of which are sick.
What a genius idea by Donald Glover to do a movie where his love interest is Rihanna. Besides instantly getting half the Earth’s population to immediately be interested in watching it, you get to have Rihanna be your pretend girlfriend for however long they filmed for! Since there is no chance on Earth 99.999% of us would ever have a real chance with her, that is about as big of a come up as it gets.
