Tommy's Thursday Thoughts: Vol. 15 - Gingers Have Orange Hair, Not Red
-Gingers don’t have “red” hair like we always say. It’s clearly orange. I’ve never understood why we call them “redheads.” Some people dye their hair legitimately red but those people are weirdo emos and stuff. Your typical “ginger” – Francis, Ed Sheeran, Isla Fisher, Chuckie from Rugrats, and others have orange hair, not red.
This is from the Wikipedia page on gingers.
How can anyone possibly look at that color and say it’s red? It is so clearly orange. Why does the whole world insist on just being wrong?
-I hate when I see a car run a stop sign/red light, but I’m walking and can’t do anything about it. In a car, I love to honk loudly at the person. But when I’m a pedestrian, there’s really nothing I can do. Sometimes I’ll just scream “Nice stop moron” and shake my fist in the air.
-Why do we acknowledge someone sneezing with “God Bless You” but don’t acknowledge someone coughing?
-I’ve written before about how aggravated I get when people tell me my shoe is untied. Well, here’s a follow up confession. I don’t think I know how to tie my shoes. They just never stay tied. For years I would say, “Oh it’s just the shoe. They don’t stay tied.” But after about 30 different pairs of shoes, I think it’s time to look in the mirror and realize I might be the common denominator here.
-On a recent train ride home, one man asked another gentleman how he was doing. The man replied with a sigh, saying “Better than I deserve …. better than I deserve.” Really wonder what’s going on in that guy’s life.
-When it’s a single-file escalator and one person decides to walk up, it puts pressure on everyone else behind them to walk too. And then if everyone is walking, you don’t want to be the one person who holds it up. Real annoying.
-I have a word for people who need to use their fingers for basic math – “morons.”
-What happens when Josh Ostrovsky, otherwise known online as “Fat Jew”, gets recognized on the street? Do people yell out, “Hey Fat Jew!”? I wonder if bystanders, unfamiliar with Ostrovsky, ever think “Oh my, this seems like a hate crime.”
-Is it a weird move to occasionally read my old college papers when I’m bored? I put a lot of work into those, and it doesn’t take much effort to read them. Sometimes I just like to reflect on my brilliance.
Thoughts I Tweeted This Week
-I really wish it was acceptable for men to carry a small, male purse. So many things I’d like to carry with me: phone, wallet, keys, charger, headphones, chapstick, tissues, Motrin, Pepcid AC, gum, etc. There’s only so much room in my pockets. Maybe I’ll become a fanny pack guy. I don’t think that’d be very out-of-character for me.
Guest Thought Of The Week
From Nate:
-There should be a bar called “Thots & Tots” that has hot girls serving tater tots.
