A Sex Scandal Teacher Update with a Huge Upgrade
Every once in a while, you blow one. Admittedly, that’s a terrible choice of words but you know what I mean. Somedays you take the mound without your best stuff and leave pitches middle-middle and you get shelled. And when that happens to you, if you’re any kind of a man who takes pride in your work, you don’t hide out in the trainer’s room. You stand in front of your locker, look right into the cameras and talk about it.
Wednesday I rushed to post about Sex Scandal Teacher Lindsay Halstead of Waterloo, NY. There wasn’t much info about her, which I took out on her. In fact, I said her boring SST story could’ve been written by the guys who have ruined the final season of “Game of Thrones” and graded her accordingly:
Moral Compass/Bad Judgment: What have we got? Practically nothing. Some vague backstory. Talk of an incident of “sexual contact.” Where’s the art? The romance? All the little moments that explain a character’s growth? This is a real letdown on a narrative, storytelling level.
Grade: D
Well I should’ve waited. Thanks to several SSToolies who have blown up my in box, we have an upgrade that serves as a true redemption story:
A student said his former teacher used Snapchat to talk him into a sexual encounter in Seneca Falls last year. … Using the app, the student said Halstead sent him nude photos and asked him if he was “going to send her something.”
On Snapchat, the student says Halstead made plans to meet up in early November. The student says she picked him up in her SUV at the library and drove to a spot behind the Hampton Inn where the two had sex in the backseat of her vehicle.
Afterward, the 16-year-old boy says Halstead was upbeat but, “I was pretty quiet and I just said a few words.”
The boy later blocked her on Snapchat but he says she began harassing him on Instagram and he blocked her there too. The student says Halstead was asking if he had told anyone.
Well that’s much better. More along the lines of what we’ve grown accustomed to. Not just some vague horsecrap about how the police “are not saying” and a school spokesman says “they were unaware” or some claptrap. This is worthy. Unsolicited Snapchat nudes. SUV sex behind the Hampton Inn. Lindsay was “upbeat” afterwards while the student was quiet. The messy breakup where he blocked her and she went full stalkery and paranoid. That’s not GoTs Season 8. It’s got all the drama, passion, intrigue, romance and betrayal of GoTs Season 3 or 4.
And with that, I’m going to apologize to Lindsay Halstead, give her a Moral Compass/Bad Judgment: A and an Overall: B+ and promise I’ll right my wrongs by doing everything I can to get her on the 2019 All Stars. She’s done her part to earn it.
