11 Years Ago Lil Wayne Dropped The Best Rap Album Of All-Time
No score and 11 years ago, Lil Wayne the GOAT dropped the best Rap Album the world has ever had the honor and privilege of listening too. It’s insane to me that this album came out 11 years ago. I was just a young lad in the 8th grade attending C.J. Hooker Middle School in Goshen, NY when Tha Carter III came out. I was battling acne, baby fat (still battling), and mustering up the courage to grind my lil pecker on some butt cheeks at the middle school dance. Simpler times. But while I was battling teenage angst my favorite artist Lil Wayne was taking over the world song by song, bar by bar. Tha Carter, Tha Carter II and all the mixtapes were amazing, but they were just a lead up to the Grammy winning album he would go on to drop in 2008. So many game changing bangers. From Lollipop, Got Money, 3Peat, A Milli, Mr. Carter, Dr. Carter, Mrs. Officer, Phone Home, Let the Beat Build, the list goes on and on and on. The entire album is a smash. Weezy bats 1.000. 18 for 18 with 18 homers.
Fun Fact: He started on the album, had songs leak and dropped those songs as a mixtape called “The Leak” (all bangers) and then made more songs which turned out to again be all bangers. He can do no wrong. As a tribute I will be listening to the entire album all the way through and making sure to light my blunt at the beginning of every song even when it’s already lit. It’s what Lil Wayne would want.
*Lighter flick* **inhales**
This link will play the album all the way through and then even plays the songs from The Leak. God bless and enjoy.
