Two Pro Hockey Players Were Arrested In NYC Last Night For Getting In A Brawl Over A Tab At 1Oak
TMZ- Pro hockey players AJ Greer and Sonny Milano were arrested this weekend for allegedly beating up a guy … this after the dude reportedly complained about a restaurant check.
The two players — who play for the Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets, respectively — were taken into custody early Sunday morning in NYC and booked for assault. We’re told they were both given desk appearance tickets, and are due in court at a later date.
According to reports, the altercation took place at a Manhattan apartment where a 28-year-old man claims they punched and kicked him. Some outlets are reporting that the guy was pissed about a bill from just hours earlier at 1 OAK, where the NHL players had been.
It’s unclear what his gripe might’ve been, but he reportedly suffered jaw and rib pain, as well as injuries to his neck and bicep … and refused medical attention after calling cops.
So pro hockey players AJ Greer and Sonny Milano got arrested late last night in Manhattan for allegedly getting into a brawl at their apartment after a dispute at 1Oak in Chelsea. Milano, who plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets organization and Greer who is in the Colorado Avalanche organization are both currently restricted free agents and while the Avalanche have yet to comment on Greer.
The NY Post is reporting that the two got a table at 1Oak and agreed to a pay a price of $1,200 for the table but they actually ran up a $2,300 tab and the players reportedly refused to pay more. The argument led back to their apartment on West Houston Street, where their roommates friend who wanted the money for the table wouldn’t leave so a fight occurred.
To me, this sounds like a couple of guys went out to the club and one guy got stuck with the bill. We have all been there. You go out to the club thinking you’re getting a table for 700 bucks, throw your card down then you’re stuck with a tab for couple grand. Next thing you know one things lead to another and you’re chucking knucks with the people you were just partying with all night over a couple hundred (or in this case thousands) of bucks. It just sucks in their case the police were called and they got arrested.
Hate to see two guys who are up for contracts get into some type of trouble too. How dumb can you be? When you are on the verge of making even what these guys are making (around 700-800k per year) why would you risk that for a night on the town? Make zero sense.
