Apparently Gerald Gillum Is Pushing Hard To Play Elvis
(TMZ) “G-Eazy’s hoping for a little less conversation and a lot more action … leading to him landing the role of Elvis Presley in an upcoming movie about the music icon.
The rapper’s not among the reported top names up for consideration to play The King in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming biopic, but sources close to the project tell TMZ … he’s making a strong push to join them.
We’re told G-Eazy’s been in talks with people at Warner Bros. and even had a few meetings, including with the director … making it clear he’s throwing his hat in the ring.”
I’m a little bit torn on this. On one hand, Machine Gun Kelly made the transition from rapper to actor pretty much flawlessly and to such great effect that I now think he has a brighter future in the latter. On the other hand, I don’t very much like G-Eazy. On the same hand, I also think Miles Teller is already a well established actor who starred in an Oscar-winning drama where he played a musician. On that same-same hand. I don’t think G-Eazy looks much like Elvis at all. So, basically, I’m not really torn at all. If Teller doesn’t land this role, I’d be extremely shocked. By this report, it sounds like all the interest is coming from G-Eazy’s camp anyway.
