The Savages Won The Craziest Baseball Game Of The Year Last Night Thanks To Aaron Hicks' Superman Diving Catch

I mean I’ve never seen anything like that in my life. That was the single craziest baseball game I’ve ever watched. The swings in that baseball game were enough to kill someone. I’m on my second heart. 35 hits 26 runs 16 XBH 14 walks 10 innings Six home runs.

LOOK AT THE MOMENTUM SWINGS

I don’t even know how to recap what I just watched so bear with me here…

The Twins jumped out to a big lead on Domingo German. They led 8-2 after 4 innings. It was a rout. They were hitting everything out.

Didi came up in the 5th and blasted a three run shot to make this a game. This was one of FIVE hits from the Knighted One. Didi is the only AL shortstop to have 5 hits and 7 RBIs in a baseball game. That’s insane.

After Aaron Judge came within one centimeter of tying the game in the 8th, just catching the top of the right centerfield wall on his two run double, Didi came up again. He once again delivered. Off contact I thought this was fly out. Didn’t think it had a chance of going off the wall. Still can’t believe it.

In the bottom of the 8th Zack Britton thought it’d be a good idea to throw Miguel Sano a ball right down the middle. It was immediately deposited on another planet. Fuck.

With two outs in the bottom of the 9th, and no one on, Mike Tauchman fell behind in the count 1-2. In what I think is the at bat of the game, the Sock Man spit on two sliders and a two seamer to draw a massive two out walk. Incredible at bat.

That set up Aaron Hicks. The man has had a thing for the heroics this year with game tying homers all over the place. He wasted no time, jumping on the first pitch he saw, and blasting it over the left field wall. Ryan Ruocco’s call of this was unbelievable. My heart literally stopped. Pure disbelief.

Chapman came on to shut things down in the bottom of the 9th but decided throwing strikes was stupid. Chapman walked three straight to start the inning. After a rocket sac fly by Polanco that I thought was out of the stadium, Aroldis found a way out of the inning, locating his zone, to extend it to extras.

In the 10th back to back 1 out singles by Didi and Romine brought Gleyber to the plate. He got the green light on 3-0 and ripped a ball into right to take the lead.

Romine would score too a few pitches later to give Yankees runline bettors a chance.

Things were going really sideways in the bottom of the 10th because of course they were. Ottavino lost the zone a bit, but Gleyber and Didi almost turned the best double play in history. My jaw fell on the floor when Gleyber caught the ball with one hand. Chad Green came in with the bases loaded and two outs. That’s when Superman entered the game and ran three football fields to save the night. What a catch. What a game. One of the best, if not THE best regular season baseball game I’ve ever seen. I don’t believe that just happened. I’m sweating profusely. Win of the year. The fucking Savages do not stop. They are a freight train. They don’t die. You can’t kill them. They’re just relentless savages.

P.S. Gary probably headed to the I.L. with a groin pull. Bad.
