If You Don't Believe That Magic Is Real Then How In The Heck Do You Explain This Shootout Move?

Antonio Stranges, ladies and gentlemen. The 17-year-old from Plymouth, MI breaking out a move so goddamn ridiculous that David Blaine is shitting his pants trying to figure it out. Pins the puck under the heel of his blade, backwards 360, pulls it to his forehand and stuffs that bitch in the back of the net. He’s 17. SEVENTEEN!!

Now if you’re like me, most of your days right now are consumed by wondering why nobody is out there throwing offer sheets around to Mitch Marner. The thing about that is that in order to sign Mitch Marner to the contract he is looking for, your team will need to give up four 1st round draft picks to Toronto as compensation on top of paying Marner somewhere around $11M. And if you’re giving up four 1st round picks, that means that you are giving up the chance to land a kid like Antonio Stranges in the 2020 Draft. Mitch Marner was an undersized but overly skilled player with the London Knights heading into his draft. Antonio Stranges is an undersized but overly skilled player with the London Knights heading into his draft.

Good lord. That’s just silly. I feel like you should probably need a License to Carry for those hands. And Antonio Stranges isn’t even ranked as a top 10 pick right now. He’s projected to be a late 1st/early 2nd round guy. So I can understand why so many NHL GMs would be a little worried about giving up a shit ton of 1st round picks when you can potentially land some hands like those even if you’re going late in the 1st round of 2020. Absolute sorcery in those mitts.
