The NCAA Continues To Prove It's The Most Pathetic, Corrupt Organization

Remember how people praised the NCAA for finally allowing players to work with agents during the NBA Draft process? Remember how great of an idea that was? Well, leave it up to the NCAA to be the most corrupt, dumb and pathetic organization out there. Simply deciding to blackball certain agents:

And you might ask well there has to be a good reason the NCAA would do this. Well friend of the program Sam Vecenie shares the e-mail from the NCAA

‘Protect the eligibility of their client athletes.’ Pretty much just saying we want to handpick who you work with because we want something out of it. That’s it. That’s all the NCAA wants. They refuse to let these athletes have any control of their lives. This is a pathetic attempt to further control them and their decision making.

Can we stop pretending like a bachelor’s degree is required for anything anymore? Unless you’re performing surgery on me or anything medical or putting my life in danger, you don’t need a bachelor’s degree. Being an agent is all about working for your client and talking to people. It’s about negotiating – essentially nothing you really learn with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Hell, even look at how they describe the players – ‘client athletes.’ They are admitting this is a job! Yet they won’t let these kids profit off of their own name, likeness and image. I can’t scream it enough. The schools provide them a scholarship. That’s plenty from the school alone. Let them profit off of their own name, likeness and image instead of letting schools profit off of that too.

This isn’t even discussing the asinine rulings the NCAA has made regarding immediate transfers and waivers. This isn’t even discussing all the other asinine things the NCAA has done. This is simply discussing who players can pick to be their agents. The ones who help determine whether they should leave college or not. You know, the decision one has to make in order to CHANGE THEIR LIVES.

I don’t know what it will take to get something done here, but I need someone who is way more loud than me to help lead a change. I need someone like Rich Paul to take on the NCAA directly here. Start calling out their bullshit at every turn.
