13 Signs You're Actually A Fatphobic Piece Of Shit

1. You buy plus sized clothing from thrift stores so you can tailor the items down to fit your size 0 body.

The author of this piece stole the words right out of my mouth. Fat people’s clothing —even if it’s publicly available for sale and not actually their clothing —is NOT your little fashion project.

Additionally, a telltale sign of fatphobia is using made-up jargon like “size-phobic” when trying to defend overtly fatphobic behavior. Ohhh, you have a phobia of…size? News flash, sis: everything has size! Take a whole ass lap.

2. You use the “O word”

fatp3

Unless you, yourself, are medically o**** then there’s ZERO excuse for using the O word, even if you’re just “reading along” to a Health text book.

3. You post weight loss “progress” pictures of yourself.

fatp4

This one’s a big f*t yikes. Posting a “before and after” weight loss picture, unless you’re doing it in a self-loathing manner, is damaging to impressionable children and young adults who will see it and think it’s “good” to be healthier or proud of yourself for something you accomplished.

4. You purposely gain weight but refuse to gain enough weight to become a “unattractive level” of fat.

fp3

That “someone” was me, and if you don’t understand what’s wrong with your little vlog, then maybe a youtube career isn’t for you, sweetie.

fp4fp5

5. You only own/wear the football jerseys of non-fat players.

fatp2

Everyone knows that being an NFL fan means that you’re automatically classist for prioritizing/supporting billion-dollar franchises and millionaire athletes over non-profit organizations and poor people. But when you outright refuse to wear the jerseys of overweight linemen??? Your fatphobia is showing, hun.

6. You’re pregnant.

fp7fp8

Skinny people intentionally getting pregnant is actually stolen valor. Did you earn that belly or did you rely on a man to inseminate you in order to get it??? Exactly. Fat people’s body types are NOT your temporary “photo aesthetics.”

7. You give up your seat on trains for pregnant/fat people.

fp9

Treating someone like a charity case just because they’re larger or more pregnant than you isn’t a “good deed”—it’s aggressive fatphobia.

8. You wear a fat suit.

fp10fp11

Fat people’s culture is NOT your costume.

9. You don’t wear a fat suit.

fp12

Similarly, not wearing a fat suit, especially as a medical professional, is inherently fatphobic and promotes unhealthy weight biases.

10. You voted for Woodrow Wilson instead of William H. Taft in the 1912 U.S. presidential election.

fp13

And don’t even try to bring “politics” into this.

12. You think Ted Bundy was “actually kind of hot” but denounce the behaviors of John Wayne Gacy.

12. You “root” for the people in “My 600 lb. Life” to lose weight/become someone they’re not.

13. You laughed or snickered when the fat characters in Heavyweights (1995) got mocked or berated by Tony Perkis.
