Team USA's Loss To Australia Was So Embarrassing They Had To Disable Their Instagram Comments Because Of How Bad They Were Getting Trolled

So if you missed it last night, haven’t heard this morning, the US lost its first game ever to Australia and snapped a 78-game winning streak. Yeah, it was just a friendly and we didn’t really run our normal lineup, the fact still stands that we lost. The one good thing about the loss is Greenie finally stopped referring to this team as Team fucking Shamrock – the dumbest fucking nickname ever. Hey, maybe let’s not have Tatum be a -13 instead, but I digress.

We see this happen from time to time and most teams just sit here and deal with it. You update your social media and have to post that you suffered an embarrassing loss. Well Team USA did just that and had to lock their Instagram comments because of how many people were just trolling them. It started with the halftime update when people really wanted us to know that this team fucking sucks.

The comments were a whole lot of this is the worst USA team put together and we really can’t stop Joe Ingles. Both are somewhat true. This is the worst USA team put together since the Dream Team, no doubt about it. This is what happens though. The US fails to win gold in the Olympics every 16 years starting in 1972, then we get a rebuild of Team USA with our stars and dominate for the next run.

The problem with this team is our second tier guys all said no to the team. That’s why we have a Plumlee out there. That’s why we have 4 Celtics on the roster right now and 2 Duke guys. Not nearly cool enough to be good. Sure, our stars have the right to say no to playing in the World Cup, especially with the way the schedule falls and the Olympics next year. But the second tier guys dropping out is where we got fucked.

I do feel bad for the social media guy. His phone and laptop gotta be burning after these sort of comments:

Fuck this guy with his K theory

I don’t disagree with this take, but still

I laughed just because of how much this is talked about in late night college hoops:

Here’s what I don’t get though. Why are we locking the Instagram comments? Are we really that sawft? We can’t be. We’re team fucking USA – unless we really are adapting this Team Shamrock bullshit. They would lock Instagram comments. I still think this team is going to win the gold, it’s a friendly loss like I mentioned. But there is cause for concern. Serbia is loaded. Giannis is playing. Australia obviously has NBA talent. The talent gap is the smallest it’s ever been for Team USA.

Now let’s watch some good times to wash away that loss
