This Video Of A Mets Minor League Player Finding Out He Is Getting Called Up To The Bigs For The First Time Is Fucking Awesome
Considering how much people love reactions of players finding out they landed a scholarship or got drafted, I’m not sure why we don’t see more videos of minor leaguers finding out they just got a monster upgrade in life by getting called up to The Show for the first time because that was fucking awesome, even if they bleeped out a decent amount of the locker room charm away. There will be no more bus trips followed by cold PB&Js for Sam Haggerty, at least for a little while. Nope, now it’s nothing but top of the line accommodations and facilities for Base Stealin’ Sammy (I just came up with that nickname nbd)
*Thinks about everything we know about the Wilpons*
Okay, that may not be completely the case. But at least the MLB Players Association negotiated a solid per diem for him and he can say he fulfilled his dream of making a Major League roster! Leaving Syracuse right as all the college students and #Dinoball returns may seem like a bummer. But I’m sure they are preparing for their first blizzard of the year north of The Wall while the Mets postseason hopes are still somehow alive. Now Sam gets to live like a Big Leaguer while also witnessing the brilliant baseball mind of his new manager Mickey Callaway up close and personal.
Also while it may not be saying much, shout out to Aaron Altherr for his best performance of the season by keeping it together while being filmed as he found out all the other Mets that were sent down got called back to Queens along with Haggerty while he stays behind like a left-back Senior to can try and catch the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on the last day of the season.
