ESPN Attempted To Sewer Christian Yelich Out Of Context But He Wasn't Having Any Of Their Bullshit
Since when did Roxanne start writing headlines for ESPN? It’s truly remarkable the fall they’ve taken over the last decade. A once respected sports journalism titan has collapsed into a TMZ-Buzzfeed disaster. The only thing that matters to them is their clicks. It’s sad.
Christian Yelich literally just made waves posing nude for their body issue and this is how they repay him? Sewering him with an out of context quote that made him look like a guy seeking attention for his injury? That’s horseshit.
Here’s the full quote.
“It’s the first time I’ve broken anything in my life or had a real injury,” Yelich said. “It seems to be one of those things that’s not fair at the moment. Trust me, I had my pity party that night at the stadium and I felt terrible. … Trust me, I wish I could have an impact on this race, or if we make the playoffs, participate in that. But it’s not going to happen. So there’s no point in dwelling on it or letting it get you down.”
Maybe the most humble guy in the game just felt horrible about not being there for his team down the stretch and into October. ESPN turned that into an anti-Yelich headline so people would click their article. The worst.
It’s pretty awesome the run Milwaukee has been on to close the season and the gap between them and the Cubs for the second wild card spot. They’re all just going to war for Yeli and my god they might just get into the dance after all.
