Terry McLaurin Is Awesome Though
It’s mostly doom and gloom right now in DC. Along with the general terriblness of Dan Snyder, the Oline is in shambles, Josh Norman can’t cover a twin bed with king size sheets, and Jordan Reed is probably going to retire. The running game is nonexistent, Case Keenum had 5 turnovers last night, and Manusky is still the defensive coordinator despite turning Mitch Trubisky into Joe Montana last night.
But there is one bright spot- Terry McLaurin.
Pro Football Talk - McLaurin had another big game on Monday night, and he has now done something no other player in NFL history has done before: He’s caught at least five passes, and scored a touchdown, in his first three career games.
Although 11 receivers were drafted ahead of him, McLaurin is leading all rookies with 16 catches, and leading all rookies with three receiving touchdowns.
What a treat he has been to watch so far.The third round pick out of Ohio State has been impressing since his first day of OTAs where he was basically named WR1, and he hasn’t let anyone down since. He’s putting up great numbers for a WR, nevermind a rookie WR.
A TD in his frist 3 games and has shown speed and route running we haven’t seen since Santana Moss. His hands have been great, and he’s only going to get better. The idea of Haskins and McLaurin is one of the only things that excites me. We’ll draft a LT number 1 overall (or number 2 depending on how that Dolphins game goes) and actually have a nice young nucleus when you add in Guice, Quinn, Sweat, Collins, Moreland, Payne, Allen, and a few others. Just so, so incredibly unfortunate they all will be wasted under the Dan Snyder regime. But I’ll enjoy watching McLaurin. It’s nice to have a young star at WR for once. Let’s hope we don’t screw this up.
