Japan Airlines Will Now Show You Where Babies Are Sitting On Flights So You Can Avoid Them

Every traveler has their pet peeves, but crying babies are almost guaranteed to grate. Now Japan Airlines has revealed a new tool that lets you dodge infants when you book your seat.”Passengers traveling with children between 8 days and 2 years old who select their seats on the JAL website will have a child icon displayed on their seats on the seat selection screen,” reads the airline’s website.

It’s truly remarkable how wildly ahead the Far East is than the United States of America in terms of technology and ideas all together. For decades we’ve suffered on planes as crying babies invade our lives and kidnap our peace and quiet for the duration of hours on end as they cry for no fucking reason. Sitting next to babies on a flight should be illegal. You shouldn’t be able to fly with a kid younger than 3. If I were a parent I would be embarrassed beyond imagination if my kid started crying on a plane and started a scene. We just wouldn’t go anywhere until that kid was mature enough.

Well now, thanks to Japan Airlines you can see where babies are sitting on flights and avoid them completely. Genius.

Why has it taken us this long for such a simple idea to be put in motion? How is this not on every airline right now? Japan Airlines is just light years ahead of the game. They get it. Now the next step is an entire section of the plane dedicated to babies, or even an entire baby plane for that matter. Maybe we can eventually develop a cone of silence in the future to mute babies on planes or just loud people. Like a bubble goes over you that prevents sound from escaping like in the movie Get Smart. Did I just change the world?
