Watch This Video And Try Not To Poop Your Pants
I’ve been on a huge motorcycle kick lately. My entire Instagram explore page is basically people risking their lives to go fast for no other reason than to get a little rush. A few weeks ago a dash cam video came out of the Isle of Man TT that I’ve been absolutely obsessed with. For those of you who don’t know, The Isle Of Man TT is a time trail motorcycle race that takes place on public roads on ‘The Isle of Man’ located between England and Ireland.
Dozens of motorcycles race through the streets at speeds of up to 200mph as spectators watch from mere feet away. It’s honestly one of the most exciting and under reported racing events on the planet. Here’s the nine minute dash cam video of the final lap that I mentioned in the title.
If you watched that whole thing and didn’t poop your pants- congratulations.
I mean, how these guys are able to maintain their composure is beyond me. Never mind the fact that they know exactly when to downshift, when to lay on the throttle, where to lean, how hard to lean, when to overtake, when not to overtake etc etc. The roads are so tight they’re basically racing blind.
The more I watch the video, the more it reminds me of how much of a maniac I was on my motorcycle when I had one. The amount of power in those machines is something you can’t understand unless you experience it first hand. I remember hopping on the highway to go home from UMass and absolutely ripping for all 82.3 miles. Weaving in and out of traffic at one hundred miles per hour +. It was a blast. Probably the most fun I’ve had in my entire life. Nothing makes you feel alive quite like knowing you could die at any moment. It was also, obviously, idiotic and ended in me totaling the bike and mangling my hands. But it was fun while it lasted. So whenever I see videos like these they always give me butterflies. I’m going to start blogging stuff like this more often until I lose interest again. Hope you guys enjoy.
