Ovi Is Now 12th All Time In Goals With 669 And First All Time In Goals For Left Wings...Just Absolutely Unbelievable How Great He Is
I started this blog by typing “it’s unreal what Ovi is doing to start the season” but then I stopped myself, and though “is it still unreal?” And that’s the thing, I still, 15 seasons in, find what Ovi does to be unreal. I watch it with my 2 eyes, I see the goals, I see the stats, and it’s still unreal. How he does this year after year is remarkable.
At 34 years old, he isn’t slowing down. In fact it appears he’s speeding up. He now has 11 notches in the first 14 games of the season, including 2 last night. The game winner pushed him into 12 place all time in goals, and first place for left wingers. And look at that list of the people he’s not only chasing, but in striking distance of- Selanne, Mario, Yzerman, Messier. With 31 more goals this year Ovi will have 700 for his career. It’s just….unreal. It truly, truly is unreal.
His first goal last night was off a beautiful play from TJ Oshie.
Brilliant effort there from Osh to set up Ovi for the tap in.
And of course we can’t end this blog without a shout out to John Carlson who just had the greatest month of October I’ve ever seen from a defenseman.
Johnny Norris has a nice ring to it.
The Caps currently sit first in the East with 21 points, going 9-2-3 in October. Pretty, pretty good. Our Year? Our Year.
