Stolen Dog Gets Reunited With Family After 15 Volunteers Drive Across Nine States Over Four Days To Bring Him Home
(F0X) – More than a dozen volunteers formed a relay team of drivers, traveling 2,000 miles, to return a stolen dog from West Virginia to his family in Montana.
A family friend allegedly stole the pit bull Zeus around two months ago from Butte, Montana, WOWK-TV reported. The suspect was then apprehended in West Virginia, when the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association took Zeus in.
“Basically robbed her blind stole her wallet, a number of things while she was at work including her dog Zeus… the friend was apprehended in Nitro (West Virginia)… and when he was arrested Zeus was still with him,” Chelsea Staley, executive director of Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, told WOWK.
Since many commercial airlines have banned pit bulls from flying, the organization Many Paws Volunteer Transport assembled a relay team of drivers to transport Zeus back to his family, the station reported.
The volunteer effort involved 15 drivers across nine states and over four days, according to the report.
Bro you’ve gotta be an enormous piece of shit to steal a dog. What a West Virginia ass thing to do. Coming home and seeing your money and tv stolen would suck but you can replace that stuff very easily. There is zero sentimental value tied up in any of that. You can’t just replace the family dog, that’s not how that works. And for TWO MONTHS to be without your pal? I wouldn’t wish that on my enemies. My worst enemy? Definitely. My run of the mill, day-to-day enemies? Never.
But the real story here is these 15 people who dropped what they were doing to bring Zeus home. I’ve never heard of a good reason to drive to Butte, Montana, before today but reuniting a family with their hound during Christmas is as good a reason as there is to do anything. For as shitty as most people are, like the dickhead who stole this dog and brought him to West Virginia against his will, there remain some decent folk out there who are willing to help without needing anything in return. Zeus couldn’t get on a plane? No worries, just toss him in these 15 separate cars over four days and we’ll traverse these nine states to make sure he’s home in time for Santa.
LOOK HOW HAPPY ZEUS WAS TO COME HOME!
