John Mayer Finally Kinda Sorta Came Out With A Christmas Song

If you have followed me for any period of time then you know I’m a staunch advocate for John Mayer to put out a full length Christmas album. It’s actually crazy that it hasn’t happened yet. All the great singers come out with a Christmas album. They do it because a) almost everyone loves Christmas music so it can’t fail and b) it is a guaranteed cash cow for the artist who makes it.

Not to mention it’s super easy because all the songs are already written. I’m not a singer but the hardest part has to be coming with the lyrics to songs. Shit seems damn near impossible. Well good news! It’s already done! The classics are already written. Have Yourself A Merry Christmas is already written. I’ll Be Home For Christmas is already written. I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas is already written. All John would have to do is go to the studio, put his own little spin on Christmas classics and boom. It would be a SMASH HIT.

Anyway, we’re here because John Mayer finally kinda sorta but not really put out his first Christmas song, CVS Bag. It’s not really a Christmas song but I’m at least happy to see him in the frame of mind where he’s thinking about holiday songs. Hopefully he gets a taste for it and that spirals into him making a full on Christmas album. Do it, John. It’ll make you even more timeless than you already are and it’ll be guaranteed financial windfall. Everybody wins.
