#11 Repeated WSD Blogging Errors

It's the dog days of summer and the White Sox are deep into the American League basement. Barstool Chicago is 8 months into upholding our Monday-Friday commitment of a blog every 45 minutes from 8am-5pm Central Standard Time. That's the old Big Cat schedule and we wanted to run it back because we value the consistency. In practice, it means we each post 3 blogs a day with some rotating duties on the 8am Wake Up. We do a daily smokeshow and a weekly dog blog, and all of this is in direct tribute/acknowledgement to Barstool's roots.

And on a personal note it's what drove me to the blog multiple times every day - knowing I could count on each separate Barstool site to post every 30-45 minutes was fucking awesome. It was a reliable safety net to a real world that bored the absolute shit out me so when the opportunity came to fire BSC 2.0 up again, there was no doubt we had to bring the schedule back. No doubt.

I tell you this not as some fucking history lesson but because I want to color in some context on how the 4 of us look at the blog. Doing so helps you get into WSD's shoes because I want to rewind again to those dog days of summer.

It's late August and WSD is hunting a 3rd blog for the day. He's exhausted himself on spinning the White Sox. He's taken a beating from everyone about the MouseGate saga. The Bears are a few weeks from opening up the season and honestly all WSD wants to do is fast forward a year or two when the White Sox are competing. Covering them full time while they suck has taken it's toll on WSD. He needs a 3rd blog.

He does what anyone else would do = he goes to his bread and butter. He talks baseball. I do the same thing all the time when I don't have the next great root beer debate on deck. I get weird on the Cubs because that's my jam. White Sox Dave does the same. It's our thing.

Only problem is WSD has the tendency to sometimes fuck up small details like decimal points and shit. Whatever. Not a big deal unless you want to really go after a guy:

So there Dave is in late August, looking for a 3rd blog when he fucks up something about a minor leaguer

And I honestly thought the world would burn for a brief moment. Everyone came out of the woodwork trying to kill a guy who was literally just trying to do his job. From there it was endless. Twins stat scandal. An MVP stat scandal. Kmarko even got on radio to talk about it. Think about that for a second.

It went on for weeks.

Months!

At this point you're probably wondering why the fuck this is #11 on the list of greatest moments of 2019 for Barstool Chicago and honestly that's pretty fair. This story is all over the place.

To answer your inquiry, this is #11 because it's the rock bottom that eventually propelled HQ to bring WSD out for the Yankees Slobgate. Not to jump ahead in the rankings, but it really was a pivotal chain of events that ultimately leads us to a speed pitch dual live stream. What a time to be alive and more importantly, what a fucking comeback story. For now, this was step 1.
